Baseball – Tagliareni Named Regional and National Male Athlete of the Week

CANANDAIGUA, NY. – Eddie Tagliareni (Mexico, NY), a standout freshman shortstop for the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (16-24, 6-10 MSAC), has been named Regional and National Male Athlete of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association for Region III Division III athletics.

Tagliareni swung a hot stick over the past week, eclipsing a .667 batting average by going 14 for 21 from the plate. His stellar hitting came in a span of six games, all which resulted in Laker victories.

On 4/26, Tagliareni went 4 for 7 with 4 RBI's and 4 stolen bases in a road doubleheader against Tompkins Cortland Community College.

On 4/28, he combined to go 4 for 6 while recording 5 runs scored and 5 stolen bases in a pair of home games against Alfred State College.

Tagliareni finished off his successful string of play with a 6 for 8 day from the plate in a road doubleheader against Alfred State on 4/29. He also produced 3 RBI's, scored 5 runs, and swiped 4 stolen bases in both games.

Tagliareni is currently batting .377 (52 for 138) on the season with a .436 on-base percentage. He has produced 22 RBI's, scored 37 runs, and has stolen 24 bases to go along with his successful hitting. Tagliareni has accumulated these numbers in a total of 41 games.
