THe FLCC baseball team fell to Montgomery College in a double header match-up on Friday, MArch 24. With the pair of losses, the Lakers move to 3-8 on the season.
Nick Slobodiak pitched the first game for the Lakers. He allowed two earned runs and a home run in his four innings pitched. The Lakers scored the first run of the game in the second inning. However, Montgomery College would go on to score six unanswered runs. The LAkers added two runs in the final two innings, but were unable to battle back. They would fall to the Raptors by a score of 6-3.
In game two, Evan Pappalardo got the start for the Lakers. He pitched five innings, allowing only one earned run after facing 22 batters. Montgomery College would would score first in the bottom of the first inning. The Lakers would add two runs of their own in the second and third innings, while holding the Raptors to just a single run through four innings. In the final three innings, the Lakers would put up three more runs, but the Raptors scored five of their own to take a 6-5 victory.
Nick Ferrino went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. He scored twice for the Lakers. Ryan Richer finished with two hits, including a home run, and batted in three runners. Cody Cooper also had two hits, including a home run. Mike Magnanti hit a triple for the Lakers.
The Lakers will remain on the road when they face Prince George Community College on Saturday, March 25 in a double header.
