Jimmy Habecker concluded his first season as an assistant coach for the Lakers in 2012.

Aside from serving as an assistant at Finger Lakes, Habecker directs (head coach) the Sherrill Silversmiths, a New York Collegiate Baseball League team. In addition, he is also an instructor at the Frozen Ropes Baseball Training Center in Rochester, NY as well as a mentor for the Ripken Baseball Camps and Clinics in Aberdeen, MD.

Habecker's coaching resume consists of several years spent at a number of different levels. He previously served as an assistant baseball coach at the high school and American Legion levels, having coached Penfield High School in Penfield, NY as well as the Rayson Miller Jr. Legion 17u team in Pittsford, NY (American Legion). During his time with Rayson Miller, he helped guide the team to their second district league title in team history. 

Habecker was a four-year member of the Mount Union College baseball team. He graduated from Mount Union with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sport Management.
