All Five Lakers Starters Reach Double Figures in Scoring in Road Win

DRYDEN, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (7-14, 2-6) experienced their most dominant win on the season today, defeating Tompkins-Cortland Community College on the road, 98-71. The Lakers built an early double-digit lead and never let the Panthers get closer than a 12-point margin for the remainder of the game. FLCC managed to hold Tompkins-Cortland to just 38% shooting from the field on the afternoon.

All five Lakers starters reached double figures in scoring. Leading the way with 18 points was the team's most potent offensive threat, freshman guard/forward Sean Carbonell (Irondequoit, NY).

A pair of guards, freshman Nick Wicks (Webster, NY) and sophomore Tyron Wilcox (Rochester, NY) each netted 16 points in the road win for FLCC. Wicks also added a season-high 8 assists.

Sophomore forward Cody Sarkis (Greece, NY) continued his hot play for the Lakers by recording his second consecutive double-double, finishing the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman guard Nic Cesar (Brooklyn, NY) was the fifth Laker to reach double figures in scoring on the afternoon. Cesar finished the game with 13 points.

FLCC will play its next game on Wednesday (2/1) at home against Broome Community College. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. at Putt Moore Court.
