Lakers Win Tight Game Against Panthers

DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team won a very close conference game on Saturday to the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers. The Lakers won 68-67 in the final seconds of the game.

Both teams kept the game a close one. At the end of the first half, the score was only 36-33, with the Panthers in the lead. There were 11 lead changes as the game progressed. It was a battle in the second half. The Lakers only managed to outscore the Panthers 35-31. It wasn't until there was 1:12 left in the game when Max Colcord drove in and made the winning layup. The Panthers had a last second chance to gain the lead but a missed jump shot solidified the exciting win for the Lakers.

The Lakers had a good night shooting. They had better percentages than the Panthers. The Lakers shot 42.9% in the field while they also shot 31.8% in three pointers.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Keon Dunbar with 17 points, Trayvon Holt with seven points and 11 rebounds, and Nyquan McCombs with 15 points and six assists.
