Richard Jones, in 2012-13, concluded his 11th season as head coach of the Lakers. Since taking over the program in 2002, Jones has accumulated 206 victories – which place him second all-time on the wins list at Finger Lakes next to Putt Moore.  

Jones coached the Lakers to their first-ever men’s basketball regional championship victory in 2006 – the same year he was named New York State Junior College Coach of the Year. In addition, he has also twice been named Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in both 2007 and 2011. 

Jones basketball coaching experience stretches beyond his years with FLCC. Furthermore, prior to joining the Lakers coaching staff, he spent 17 additional years coaching the sport at the high school level in the states of New York and North Carolina.

Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Westminster College. He is also a graduate of Alfred University, where he earned his master’s in school psychology. The 11th-year Lakers head coach currently works as a school psychologist with the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District in Clifton Springs, NY. Jones resides in Clifton Springs with his wife Louise. They have two daughters, Haley, who is a student at Cornell and Lauren, a Niagara University graduate.

A.J. Raulli, in 2012-13, concluded his third season as assistant coach of the Lakers. Since joining the coaching chair in 2010-11 at Finger Lakes, the third-year assistant has been an integral part of the men’s basketball program. Raulli, prior to his addition to the Lakers coaching staff, was the head junior varsity basketball coach of Victor High School for 13 seasons. 

Raulli holds a bachelors degree in history from Gannon University. He is also a graduate of Nazareth College, where he earned his master’s in education. Raulli is currently employed as an elementary special education teacher at Midlakes. He resides in Farmington, NY with his wife Heather, and their two children, twin sons Drew and Jake.
