Lacrosse – Lakers Fall On Road To #9 Nationally Ranked Harford
BEL AIR, MD. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (5-7, 3-3 Region III, 2-0 MSAC) dropped their third consecutive game this afternoon by falling to the #9 nationally ranked* Harford Community College Fighting Owls on the road, 10-7.
The Lakers kept the game close in each period of today's contest. Period one resembled a defensive battle between Finger Lakes and Harford. The Fighting Owls built a 2-1 lead heading into the second. The Lakers drew with Harford in the second as both teams scored three goals each. The Fighting Owls went on to take periods three (3-2) and four (2-1) to secure the victory.
In a losing effort, Joshua Taylor (Calgary, Alberta), one of the nation's top goal scorers, paced Finger Lakes with 4 goals.
Cale Giese (Kamloops, British Columbia) also tallied four points for the Lakers by dropping in a goal and handing out 3 assists.
Steve Campaniello (Rochester, NY) and Rob Pelkey (Fairport, NY) each added one goal apiece for Finger Lakes.
In goal, John Perrucci (Myrtle Beach, SC) tallied 10 saves in 59 minutes worth of action for the Lakers.
Finger Lakes will look to end its three-game slide on Monday (4/9) when it takes on Mohawk Valley Community College on the road at 2:00 pm. This game is a resumption of a previous suspended game (due to lightning) that was played between both teams on 3/19.
