Lakers to take on Herkimer County and Broome in next two games

CANANDAIGUA – Finger Lakes CC will return to action tomorrow as it is scheduled to take on Herkimer County CC in an afternoon road contest. Friday's game will get underway at 4 pm. After taking on the Generals, the Lakers will remain on the road on Saturday as well as they are set to take on Broome CC. Saturday's conference matchup will begin at 3 pm.

The Lakers will enter tomorrow on a five-game winning streak. Finger Lakes, two days after having its meeting with No. 9 Monroe CC be cut short due to lightning, enters Friday playing some inspired lacrosse. Over its last five games, it has defeated the likes of Mohawk Valley CC, Niagara County CC, Tompkins Cortland CC, Alfred State College, and Hudson Valley CC.

The Lakers, currently 7-6 (2-1 MSAC) overall, last faced off with the Generals of Herkimer County on Apr. 27 of last year. The Lakers, behind the five-goal efforts of Jack Timerson and Joshua Taylor ('12), cruised to a 20-6 home win. Herkimer will enter its home contest with Finger Lakes supporting a 4-5 record this season.

Finger Lakes last saw Broome on Apr. 16 of 2012. In the home pairing, the Lakers nudged the Hornets 8-7. Tied at seven with 51 seconds remaining on the game clock, Finger Lakes sealed the one-goal victory thanks to a Timerson helper. On the afternoon, the now sophomore contributed two goals and two assists. The Hornets, before meeting with the Lakers on Saturday, are in action today on the road at No. 1 Onondaga CC. Prior to today's conference game with OCC, Broome stands at 6-4 (2-0 MSAC).
