Lakers Down Hawks 13-7 for First Win

DOVER, DE -- The Finger Lakes Men's Lacrosse team earned their first win on the young season by defeated Delaware Technical & CC-Terry 13-7. The Lakers are now 1-2 on the season. 

Matt Scharr led the Lakers in scoring with three goals and five assists in his first career game for Finger Lakes. Roy Young and Matt Miller both continued their hot start to the season. Young had a hat trick and Miller scored a pair of goals and helped on two more. Josh Spence had a pair of goals and Brandon Grace added a pair of assists. Corey Grace, Ralph Taliento, and Austin Laine each all scored their first career goals for the Lakers.

Freshman Jake Sahrle got the start in goal and stood up to the Hawks offense. Sahrle conceded only 7 goals while making 20 saves for Finger Lakes.

The Lakers will continue their road trip tomorrow when they travel to Bel Air, Maryland to take on Harford Community College. The Owls are currently ranked 5th in the NJCAA. The game is scheduled to start at 1pm.
