The Finger Lakes Community College men's lacrosse team defeated the Generals from Herkimer College yesterday by a final score of 10-9 in the second minute of overtime. With the win, the Lakers improve to 5-5 overall.
After completion of regulation time, both teams were tied at nine apiece. However, the Lakers were able to pull off a narrow win over the Generals during overtime play. Matt Hall scored the game winning goal in the second minute of overtime. He was assisted by Andrew Buck.
Matt Hall led the Lakers with four goals against the Generals. Hall is now ranked fourth in the NJCAA for goals with twenty three on the season. Andrew Buck finished th game with five total assists. He holds the third spot in the NJCAA for assists with nineteen on the season.
Sophomore goaltender Matt Spoor played all sixty two minutes between the pipes for the Lakers. He recorded fourteen saves against the Generals. Spoor leads the NJCAA in saves with 148 saves on the season.
The Lakers will return to action on Saturday, April 12th, when the faceoff against Hudson Valley Community College at home. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 PM.
