The Finger Lakes Community College lacrosse team was defeated by the Broncos from SUNY Delhi College on Sunday, April 10, by a final score of 10-6. With the loss, the Lakers drop to 7-7 overall.
The Lakers lead early in Sundays contest, scoring two back-to-back goals in the first quarter. Going into halftime, the Broncos were able to tie it up four all after scoring three goals to the Lakers two. The Broncos went on a five to one run in the third quarter, giving them a 9-5 lead over the Lakers. The Lakers were held to just two goals in the second half by the Broncos defense.
Zakk Mount and Matt Hall finished with two goals apiece for the Lakers. Ethan Bakogiannis had one goal and one assist. Alex Chiara had one goal. Andrew Buck finished with three assists for the Lakers. Matt Spoor played all sixty minutes in goal for Finger Lakes, recording thirteen saves on the day.
The Lakers will return to action this Saturday, April 16, for their last regular season home game against the Cougars from Genesee Community College. The game is set to begin at 1PM.
