Dave Stein concluded his ninth season as head coach of the Lakers in 2012 by coaching the team to an overall record of 9-12.

Stein's coaching resume extends beyond his years at Finger Lakes as a lacrosse coach. Prior to joining the Lakers coaching staff, he developed experience coaching the sport at the high school level. In addition, he has devoted his time in youth level lacrosse, developing programs in the Rochester, NY area. Stein currently directs several lacrosse camps and clinics in Upstate NY.

As a lacrosse player, Stein was a standout midfielder at the collegiate level, having played at Michigan State University, where he was named All-Conference in 1988 and team captain in 1989.

He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Stein is also a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College, where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Education.
