Lakers Win in Overtime

Orchard Park, NY – The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team defeated Erie Community College on Monday in overtime, 2-1. Lakers (2-6) forward Arber Emerllahu (Palmyra) scored his team leading 4th goal of the season in the first half off of a mishandled pass from an ECC defender. FLCC remained up 1-0 until late in the second half. ECC tied the game at 1 all on a free kick towards the end of regulation. The goal found the upper left corner of the net, sending the game into sudden death overtime. In overtime, midfielder Mike Bernard (Greece) found the upper right corner of the net 5 minutes in on a free kick, notching the win for the Lakers. FLCC has now won 2 of its last 3 games.

The Lakers will be back in action this Thursday against Herkimer Community College at home. Game time is schedule for 4:00 p.m.
