The finger Lakes Community College Men's Soccer team was defeated by Tompkins Cortland Community College on Saturday by a score of 3-1. The Lakers now move to 2-12-1 on the season.
Tompkins Cortland came out firing, recording 8 shots in the first half. Despite their immense pressure, the Lakers were able to hold the Panthers to only one goal the first half, which came 28 minutes into the match. Finger Lakes would get two shots in the first half but were unable to find their mark. The Lakers would go into halftime trailing the Panther 1-0.
The second half saw much more action as far as scores. Sophomore captain Quinton Ashley scored off a penalty kick after a foul occurred in the box against the Panthers. Three minutes later the Panthers would answer back with their second goal after a failed clear by the Lakers defense. TC3 would seal the deal after they scored their third goal of the afternoon in the 72nd minute. The final score would be 3-1, Panthers over the Lakers.
The Lakers will play their last home game on Wednesday, 10/14 as they face Genesee Community College. Kickoff is set for 4pm.
