In 2012, Brent Conley, in his first season as head coach of the Lakers, guided the team to a 9-10-3 record.

Conley is an experienced men's soccer coach, having coached the sport for over 35 years at several different levels (with local school teams, collegiately, and at various camps). He has spent the last 30 plus years coaching the sport in the Rochester & District Soccer League. Conley is currently the head coach of the Rochester Futbol Club U-20 men’s team. His club recently tied for the league’s Premier Division Championship and was a finalist in the United States Adult Soccer Association’s (USASA) National U-20 Cup. In addition, he is the reigning USASA Region I Coach of the Year.

Prior to playing in the National U-20 Cup final, Conley coached the Western New York Select Team to a Donnelly Cup appearance. He has coached the Select Team since 2001. As head coach of the Select, Conley has coached his team to the regional finals on four separate occasions (2005, ’06, ’07, and ’08). Conley’s team captured the Region I title in 2006. Two of his players from the Select Team made the USASA national team in 2004 while three of them were selected to the national team in 2007. As part of his Select Team training process, he schedules games against major college and professional teams.

Conley has been a member of the Rochester & District Soccer League Board since 2002. He was elected president of the board in 2009. Conley recently added an O-50 division to his 105 team league and is nearing completion of new U-20 and U-23 divisions. He is also a current member of the USASA Facilities Committee and is involved in an effort to enhance the Donnelly Cup and Select Team program.

In 2012, Dan Spencer, in his first season as an assistant coach with the Lakers, assisted the team to a record of 9-10-3.

Spencer is a talented coach, one who has been involved with coaching the sport of soccer at various levels for over 25 years. In addition to his stint with Finger Lakes, he also serves as the head coach of the Rochester, NY Futbol Club 1 team in the Rochester District Soccer League (RDSL).

Spencer’s greatest coaching highlight came in 2010 when he led the New York State West State Cup champion RFC U-19 men’s team to victory in the championship game. During that same year, RFC was a group winner in the United States Youth Soccer Region I Championships. In addition to coaching the U-19 squad, Spencer was at the helm of the RFC U-20 men’s team in 2011. In ’11, his U-20 men’s team finished as a finalist in the United States Adult Soccer Association’s National U-20 Cup.

On top of coaching in the RDSL, Spencer has also spent time coaching the sport at the Irondequoit Soccer Club (member of the New York State West Youth Soccer Association) in Rochester, NY.

Spencer holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. John Fisher College.

In 2012, James Hewlett concluded his 16th year as an assistant coach with both the Finger Lakes CC men’s and women’s soccer programs.

In addition to his coaching stints at the college, Hewlett serves as a head soccer coach in the New York State West Olympic Development Program and is a lead instructor for the YM, E, and D coaching courses for the NY State West Youth Soccer Association. He holds NY State coaching (levels E, D, and C) and psychology (levels I and II) certifications from the United States Soccer Federation and English Football Association respectively.  

Hewlett is employed at Finger Lakes CC where he serves as a biology professor and is the director of the biotechnology program. The Bucknell University graduate – aside from his coaching career – played soccer collegiately – before transitioning into his current roles. Hewlett currently resides in Webster, NY with his wife and their two daughters.
