Men’s Cross Country Competes In Nationals
Holyoke, MA – The Finger Lakes men's cross country team competed in the NJCAA Division III Region III National Championship on Saturday (11/5) in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Overall, the Lakers finished their final race (8K) of 2011 with an 8th place showing. On the morning and afternoon, Finger Lakes saw each of its runner's record personal best times. All-American Jordan Merritt (Penn Yan) led the Lakers by racing to a 9th place finish with a time of 27:03. Merritt was followed by Mike Pitcher (Hornell), 25th (27:46), Josh Corey (Marcus Whitman), 65th (29:40), Adam Bradley (Marcus Whitman), 79th (30:07), and Joe Ellinger (Clyde-Savannah), 81st (30:09). Finger Lakes also received solid races out of Dave Herbert (Wayland-Cohocton) (95th - 30:53) and Aaron Wiseman (Canandaigua) (103rd - 31:15).
