The Men's and Women's XC teams traveled to Letchworth State Park on Saturday October 1 to run in the Mike Woods Invitational.
For the women, Brooke Burrone ran her fastest time this season finishing in 239th place in a time of 28:24.8. This time also represents a personal record for Burrone when she went through the 5K mark during the race.
For the men, Jake Blanchard finished in 179th place running a personal record and the second fastest FLCC time ever on the SUNY Geneseo home course in 28:48.2. Jacob Bailey turned in a stellar performance as well, finishing in 238th place, with a PR in 30:05.9.
"The team ran well today and I am proud of their efforts. We are moving faster each week and it will be very exciting to see how the team runs against just the community college division teams," said coach Williams. "They are making gains each week slowly but surely and it will be a very tight finish for the conference and regional titles. And Brooke Burrone! She ran a significant personal record today as well. She is legit and is going to be a contender at both the conference and regional championships for sure!"
The women and men cross country team members will travel to Houghton College for the Houghton Highlander Invitational this Saturday October 8. The men will begin at 11 followed by the women at 12pm.
