Lakers Finish Fifth at Highlander Invitational

The men's and women's cross country teams competed this weekend at the Highlander Invitational at Houghton College on Saturday, October 8th.  
For the women, Brooke Burrone finished the five kilometer race in 32nd place with a time of 23:11. It was Burrone's fastest time of the season. 
For the men, the team was led by Jake Blanchard who ran the 8K course in 28:59, coming in 20th place. Jake Bailey was next, in 29th place for the Lakers, running a season best 29:27.  Next was Austin Batson who finished in 44th place in 30:57, a season best as well by 10 seconds!  
Dakotah Cox finished in the 4th position for the Lakers in 31: 51.  Sam Voak finished in 57th in 33:31 followed by Jake Lorah in 62nd place in 35:05. Zach Vaughn finished in 63rd place in 35:55 and Jesse Smith in 64th place in 36:07.  
The men's team finished in fifth place overall! On Saturday, October 15, the teams travel to Buffalo, NY for the Canisius Alumni Invitational at Delaware Park.
