Softball - Lady Lakers Sweep Clinton In Dominating Fashion
PLATTSBURGH, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lady Lakers won a pair of games this afternoon on the road over Clinton Community College by scores of 20-1 (game one) and 19-3 (game two).
The Lady Lakers wins were both highlighted by the hot bats of freshmen Jeri Baker (shortstop, Harrisville, NY) and Nicole Taylor (catcher, Shortsville, NY). Baker delivered a combined 7 for 10 performance from the plate in both games. She also tallied 10 RBI, scored 6 runs, and stole 2 bases. Taylor on the other hand, also contributed a strong day offensively. She went a combined 5 for 7 from the plate in both games.
On the mound, Finger Lakes were led by the pitching efforts of sophomore Kayla Kline (Seneca Falls, NY) and freshman Kristyn Maleski (Waterloo, NY). Kline earned the victory in game one by compiling 5 strikeouts while allowing just 5 hits. Maleski secured the game two victory with a 3-strikeout outing.
The Lady Lakers will be back in action on Thursday (3/29) for a doubleheader against Monroe Community College. Game one is slated to begin at 3:00 pm.
