Lady Lakers Fall in First Round of Pete Pavia Memorial Tournament
ROCHESTER, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lady Lakers (6-6) fell to Lakeland Community College of Cleveland, OH (Division II member) on Saturday (12/10) in the first round of the Pete Pavia Memorial Tournament (held at Monroe Community College), 68-58.
Freshman standout shooting guard Cassandra Strait (Dundee) led FLCC offensively in a losing effort by scoring 18 points and dishing out 5 assists. Freshman guard Kelli McCauley (Irondequoit) also reached double figures in scoring for the Lady Lakers by pouring in 14 points. In addition, she tallied 5 steals on the defensive end of the court for FLCC. Freshman forward Jordan Smith (Lyons) controlled the glass for the Lady Lakers by adding 10 rebounds in the loss.
