Lady Lakers Begin 2012 With Victory At Home Over Tompkins-Cortland

CANANDAIGUA, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lady Lakers (8-6) built a double-digit lead going into halftime on Tuesday night at home and never looked back, defeating Tompkins-Cortland Community College, 70-51.

The Lady Lakers were led by a trio of freshman's in there first game back after a month long hiatus. Kelli McCauley (Irondequoit) shot 8-15 from the field, converting on 4-10 from three-point land, finishing the night with 22 points. Cassandra Strait (Dundee) continued her successful first season with FLCC by scoring 16 points (off 8-16 shooting from the field) and handing out 6 assists. Jordan Smith added 14 points and a staggering 17 rebounds (8 offensive) in the win.

The Lady Lakers will be back in action tomorrow (1/12) on the road at Broome Community College. Game time tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
