Lady Lakers Beat Panthers at Home 71-55

Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team defeated Tompkins Cortland Community College at home on Saturday, January 28.  With the 71-55 victory, the Lady Lakers improve to 5-2 in the conference.

The Lady Lakers controlled the tempo of Saturday's contest, outscoring the Panthers in three of the four quarters.  They trailed the Panthers at only one point, three minutes into the first quarter by a score of 8-6.  For the remainder of the contest the Lakers remained at least four points ahead of their opposition to clinch a conference victory.  

Megan Howell led the Lakers with 18 points.  Krystal Hunter and Ranaveya Richards finished with 15 points apiece.  They also had 11 rebounds and 10 rebounds, respectively. Megan McAllister had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Janae Brannon had eight points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers.  

The Lady Lakers will travel this week for a pair of MSAC contests.  They will travel to Broome Community College on Wednesday, February 1 to face the Hornets.  Following Wednesday's match-up, the Lakers will travel to Jefferson Community College to battle the Cannoneers on Saturday, February 4.
