Women's Basketball Honors its Sophomores

Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team honored their three sophomores prior to their final home game of the season.  Sophomores Krystal Hunter, Katie DeJonge, and Megan Howell were joined by their parents at center court and recognized for their hard work and dedication to the program.  

Following the sophomore celebration, The Lady Lakers defeated the Cayuga Community College Spartans in decisive fashion.  With the 65-37 victory, the Lakers improve to 9-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and 19-5 overall.

The Lakers outscored the Spartans in every quarter of Wednesday's contest. The Lakers began pulling away from the Spartans midway through the second quarter end continued to extend their lead through the third and fourth quarters.  

Sophomore Megan Howell led the Lakers with 21 points, eight rebounds, and five steals.  Ranaveya Richards finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, and 12 assists.  Sophomores Krystal Hunter and Katie DeJonge added nine points apiece for the Lakers.  Hunter also had 10 rebounds.

The Lady Lakers will play their final regular season game on Saturday, February 18.  They will travel to Onondaga Community College to face the Lazers in a Mid-State Athletic Conference contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 1pm.
