The Mid-State Athletic Conference has named their 2017 Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team. Among its members are Finger Lakes Community College sophomores, Krystal Hunter and Megan Howell.
Krystal Hunter has been a strong leader on the court for the Lakers this season. In her 12 conference games played, Hunter averaged 17.1 points per game. Hunter finished with a 40.5 field goal shooting percentage, and a 39.3 three point percentage for the Lakers.
Megan Howell has been an outstanding offensive leader for the Lakers in their 2016-2017 season. Howell averaged 15.4 points per game out of the 12 conference games she competed in. Howell’s 52.0 field goal percentage would rank her sixth in Region III, while her three point percentage was 28.6.
In addition to the All-Conference members the Lady Lakers head coach, Kelly Broderick, received the 2016-2017 All-MSAC coach of the year award during her first season with Finger Lakes Community College.
The Lakers will travel to Onondaga Community College on Saturday, February 25 to compete against the Red Barons from Corning Community College in the MSAC semi-finals match up at 2:00pm. If the Lakers claim victory, they will advance to the championship game on Sunday, February 26 at 11:00am.
