Bio

In 2013-14, Jamie Varney concluded her third season as an assistant coach of the Woodsmen program at Finger Lakes Community College.

Varney, during her collegiate days, was a standout competitor and team captain of the FLCC women’s woodsmen division from 1991-93. As a member of the woodsmen squad, she was part of two championship winning teams at the Annual Spring Championship competition.  

After college, Varney competed in professional timbersports competitions in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada from 1992-96. During those years, she was a regular competitor at the New York State Open Championship, where she placed first multiple times in the Log Roll, Bow Saw, Chainsaw, and Axe Throw.

Varney was a 1993 graduate of FLCC, where she holds a degree in natural resource conservation: law enforcement. She currently owns and operates an interior painting contracting business called Affordable Interiors. Varney resides in Naples, NY with her husband Steve.
