Women’s Soccer – Lady Lakers Enter Season Ranked Third Nationally

CANANDAIGUA -- Coming off of what was a historical season in the win column last fall, the Lady Lakers will enter their 2012 campaign ranked third in the NJCAA national polls (for Division III women's soccer). The early season polls rank Montgomery College-Rockville (MD) in the one hole and Ocean County College (NJ) as the runner up above Finger Lakes CC. The Lady Lakers will look to build upon a 21-1-1 2011 season in 2012 with the goal of achieving a national title.

Finger Lakes comes into the season scheduled to play 19 games – 11 of which will be held on their own grass. The Lady Lakers are scheduled to open up their 2012 season at home next Tuesday (8/28) against Onondaga CC at 4:00 p.m. The season opener against Onondaga is the only scheduled game for Finger Lakes in the month of August. They will return to action on Saturday, 9/1 for a 12:00 p.m. road game against Hudson Valley CC.

After the Lady Lakers take on Hudson, they will remain away from their home confines as they are slated to travel to Binghamton, NY on Tuesday, 9/4 for a mid-afternoon matchup against Broome CC. That game is scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m. For a full look of Finger Lakes 2012 schedule, please visit the women's soccer schedule page located here - http://flccathletics.com/sports/wsoc/2012-13/schedule.
