CANANDAIGUA – The 2012 season continues to be a dominant one for the Lady Lakers. Finger Lakes (7-0, 3-0 MSAC) extended its win streak to 7 games yesterday by taking down Erie CC (3-4) at home – 7-1.
On a beautiful late summer afternoon in upstate, NY, the Lady Lakers offense shined bright amidst their grounds. Finger Lakes prolific scoring picked up right where it left off in its previous game – a game where they posted double-digit goals in a home win over Fulton-Montgomery CC (on 9/15). In Monday's victory, the Lady Lakers converted on slightly over 41% of their shots on goal. In total, they fired 17 of them on net.

Sophomore standout Cayli Carmona (forward) paced the Lady Lakers with 2 goals and an assist. She finished the day with a team-high 5 points. With the goals and assist, Carmona continues to lead the nation in both assists (12) and points (40).
The other 5 goals notched by Finger Lakes came from an array of players including – Hannah Dalle (defender/forward), Rachel Hefner (defender), Dominique Berrafato (forward), Danielle VonHahmann (forward) and Rebecca Giacapuzzi (forward). All five girls scored one goal apiece on the afternoon. In addition, Berrafato and Giacapuzzi each added one assist apiece to go along with their markers.
Paige Smith (midfielder), Natasha Hyland (midfielder), Alyssa Norman (defender), and Kellie Brown (defender), each contributed in the offense for Finger Lakes by supplying the team with one assist apiece.
In between the crossbars, sophomore keeper Kristy Kirkpatrick made 7 stops in 90 minutes worth of action for the Lady Lakers. In total, the visitors Erie struck 8 shots on goal.
Finger Lakes still remains the nation's second ranked team. 4 of their 7 wins have now been earned at home – with the other 3 coming on the road. They will look to add to their 7-game win streak in their next matchup, which is scheduled for Thursday (9/20) on the road at #8 nationally ranked Herkimer County CC. That game is slated to start at 5:00 p.m. Herkimer currently stands at 6-2-1 on the season.
