Women’s Soccer – Carmona Earns MSAC Co-Player of the Year Honors
CANANDAIGUA – Lady Lakers forward Cayli Carmona has earned Co-Player of the Year honors for the Mid-State Athletic Conference. The standout sophomore, who dismantled so many statistical categories this year in FLCC's records book, shares the honor with Danielle Tyrrell, a star forward from Broome CC. Carmona, who up to this point has racked up 102 points (34 goals and 34 assists) in 2012, helped lead the Lady Lakers (conference champions) to a flawless 6-0 record in the MSAC this season.
In addition to her MSAC Co-POTY honors, joining Carmona on the MSAC All-Conference team are her teammates Hannah Dalle (forward/defender), Rebecca Giacapuzzi (forward), and Samantha Burnside (defender). All three of these aforementioned players carried great efforts to the field on a consistent basis in 2012. Each of them was a vital piece in each of the Lady Lakers six conference wins.
FLCC failed to allow a single goal in any of its conference games this season. There wins in the MSAC, which came against Onondaga CC, Broome CC, Corning CC, Cayuga CC, Tompkins Cortland CC, and Jefferson CC, were by a combined score of 44-nil.
