Lakers Keep Streaking Against Jaguars

OLEAN, NY -- The Finger Lakes Women's Soccer team continued their winning ways on Saturday with a 7-0 win. With the win, the Lakers improve to 6-2 on the season, including a 2-0 record in Region 3 West play.

The Lakers opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when team-leading scorer Brittany Maggio found the back of the net off of the assist by Brittani Bove. Finger Lakes would then add three goals in three minutes to push the lead to 4-0. A late goal in the first half would make it a 5-0 halftime lead, pacing the Lakers to the 7-0 victory. Maggio finished the game with a hat trick and an assist. The seven points is a season-high for the Lakers. Bove scored and helped out on two goals. Other goal scorers for the Lakers were Rachel Graves, Danielle VonHahmann, and Amonie DiRoma. Daniele Ogrodowski got the shutout for the Lakers in net.

Finger Lakes will return home on Wednesday against 7th ranked Mohawk Valley CC. The Hawks are the defending national champions. Kickoff from Finger Lakes Community College is scheduled for 4pm.
