Lakers Lose at Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women’s Soccer team suffered a loss to the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks Wednesday afternoon. The Lakers lost 2-0.

It was a tough loss for the Lakers on Wednesday. The Jayhawks were dominant throughout the entire game. They out-shot the Lakers 35-8 over the course of the game. FLCC kept the Jayhawks to no goals in the first half. Goal keeper Samantha Clark kept the Lakers in the game in the first half with 5 saves.

Shortly after the beginning of the second half, the Jayhawks scored their first goal of the game. Alexa Dix was assisted by Courtney Hewes. Later on in the half, Dix scored again, this time being assisted by Tayler Morrison. The Lakers had a better second half offensively. They had 6 shots, improving their 2 shots in the first half. They also had 2 corner kick opportunities. In the end, the Jayhawks came out victorious.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Stephany McBride with 4 shots, Colby Kutzer with 3 shots, and goal keeper, Clark with 14 saves.

The Lakers play next this Saturday, September 23rd at Cayuga Community College. They will begin at 4:00pm. They look to redeem themselves and improve their record.
