CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women’s Soccer team beat the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers Wednesday, 1-0. This put the Lakers to a 6-3 record on the season.
It was a hot day for a game for the Lakers. Playing in temperatures of up to 90 degrees, the Lakers found it in them to still pull out the win. The only goal of the game was scored in the first half. Colby Kutzer dribbled the ball up the middle and found an open Allison Page, who dribbled up and shot it just by the goalie for a sure goal.
The second half of the game you could tell both teams were feeling the heat. Keeping the ball mostly on offense, the Lakers took lots of shots all together but most of them were not on goal. The Lakers kept the Cannoneers scoreless.
Game leaders for the Lakers were Page with one goal, Kutzer with one assist, and goal keeper Samantha Clark with 9 saves.
The Lakers play next, Saturday, September 30th against the Corning Community College Red Barons. They will start at 3:00pm at home.
