Women's Soccer Taken Down By Vikings

DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Soccer team played in the Tompkins Cortland Community College Soccer Tournament this past weekend. The Lakers started the tournament playing the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings this past Saturday. They lost 6-1.

The Vikings started off the scoring in the first half of the game. Sydnee Metzold scored the opening goal of the game and was assisted by Cassie Patrick. The Vikings scored again, this time by Payton Czupil unassisted. Then finally, the last Viking goal of the half was scored by Kaitlin Nadeau, assisted again by Patrick. Then the Laker's put up their first and only goal of the game. Alexis Gossage found the back of the net, assisted by Hannah Ceravolo.

In the second half, the Vikings scored three more goals. Kristen Bikowicz scored the opening goal of the second half, assisted by Metzold. Then Patrick scored, assisted by Jessica Clifford. The final goal of the game was scored by Bikowicz, again assisted by Metzold.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Gossage with one goal, and three shots, Ceravolo with one assist, and Goal Keeper, Alexa Salatel, with 28 saves.
