Eric Marsh finished his sixth season as a member of the FLCC coaching staff in 2011, serving as associate head coach. He also spent the 2011 season as the head men’s soccer coach at FLCC. In 2012, Marsh will be returning to the sidelines of the women’s soccer team as head coach.

During his six-year coaching career with the Lady Lakers, Marsh has compiled a record of 85-15-5. During that span, he helped lead the Lady Lakers to the Region III Championship game for 4 consecutive years. Throughout his 4-year run to the Region III Championship game, Marsh was a recipient of the 2008 and ‘10 Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award. In addition, he was also voted Region III Coach of the Year in 2008. During his tenure, Marsh has compiled 7 Athletic All-Americans, 14 Academic All-Americans, 3 Conference Players of the Year, and 2 Regional Players of the Year.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Marsh experienced great success while playing on the soccer field. As a player, he was a member of the FLCC soccer team before transferring to Division I Canisius College, where he competed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. After playing collegiately at Canisius, Marsh proceeded to play soccer in the Premier Development League for the Vermont Voltage.

Marsh is a nationally certified coach, earning the honors through the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He is a graduate of Canisius College, where earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. Marsh also holds a Master of Science degree in Health Promotion from Mississippi State University. He currently resides in Canandaigua, NY with his wife and three sons: Levi, Jaxson, and Tyler.

Brandy Cooper finished her first season with FLCC in 2011 as associate head women’s soccer coach. Cooper led the Lady Lakers to their first ever NJCAA Division III National Championship tournament appearance while collecting Conference and Regional Coach of the Year honors. Overall, she coached the # 5 nationally ranked Lady Lakers to a record of 22-1-1 in 2011.

Previously, Cooper spent five full seasons with the FLCC women’s soccer team as assistant coach. During her tenure as a member of the Lady Lakers coaching staff, she has helped coach the women’s soccer team to three consecutive Mid-State Athletic Conference championships in 2008, ‘09, ‘10, and ‘11 (FLCC earned the championship title in each of these years). Cooper has compiled a record of 85-15-5 during her time as both an associate head and assistant women’s soccer coach at FLCC. She has helped coach 7 Athletic All-Americans and 14 Academic All-Americans.

In her first full season as associate head women’s soccer coach at FLCC, Cooper did an exceptional job of using her coaching and playing experience to help benefit the team. She utilized the Lady Lakers roster through preaching the importance of developing a dedicated work ethic that will help sustain a successful program. Cooper now looks to continue building upon the success of the program by establishing a consistent winning culture.

Aside from coaching, Cooper was a very successful soccer player in both high school and college. She played collegiately at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Cooper currently resides in Farmington, NY with her husband Jason and their two daughters: Kaiya and Abbi.

James Hewlett

James Hewlett

Title: Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Coach Hewlett has been with FLCC’s soccer program since 1997.  He graduated from Webster High School and went on to play Division I soccer at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.  He is currently a Professor of Biology at FLCC and is the Director of FLCC’s A.S. Biotechnology Program.  Hewlett holds state coaching certifications through the Youth Module, Intermediate Course and Goalkeeping License.  In addition, he holds coaching certifications at the E, D, and National C level from the U.S. Soccer Federation and his Level 1 and 2 Psychology certifications from the English FA.  He is currently a lead instructor for the YM, E, and D coaching courses for the New York State West Youth Soccer Association.  He is a Head Coach within the New York State West Olympic Development (ODP) program, and in 2006 he joined US Soccer’s Region I staff.  Coach Hewlett currently lives in Webster, NY with his wife and two daughters.
