University of Rochester Alumni Invitational

FLCC men's and women's track and field team participated in the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational on Saturday. On an individual note, David Moore highlighted the Lakers team effort by finishing 7th in the men's long jump at 6.22 meters (qualifying himself for the Region III Championship). Moore also finished 12th in the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 11.73. Joseph Christian IV and Timothy Johnston both finished in the top 15 for the men's shot put. Christian IV came in 11th place at 12.04 meters and Johnston added a 14th place finish at 11.85 meters. Matthew Szydlowski provided an 11th place finish in the men's 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.19 (qualifying himself for the Region III Championship) and a 20th place showing in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.00. The FLCC men placed 8th as a team in the 4 X 100 meter relay with a final time of 45.66 (led by Sam Beckwith, Andrew Superak, Jeremy Westerfield and David Moore). By finishing 8th in the 400 meter hurdles, the men qualified for the Region III Championship.

Katherin Donovan highlighted the women with a 17th place finish in the women's long jump at 4.23 meters. Rynders Lindsay placed 21st in the women's 5000 meter run with a time of 21:23.56. Sarah Murphy placed 22nd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.50 and 25th in the 200 meter dash finishing with a time of 28.77. FLCC's next track and field meet will take place this Sunday (April 17)at Brockport.
