FLCC Track Men and Women Compete in Nazareth/Rochester City Classic

ROCHESTER, NY. – The Finger Lakes CC men and women competed in the Nazareth/Rochester City Classic this past Saturday, and turned in some solid performances. Julie Brooks won the high jump for the second week in a row, jumping 1.45 meters for first place. Leigha Tilton had a fine day as she finished 9th in the 100 meters (13.76), was 4th in the 100 meter hurdles (17.48), and in addition placed 3rd in the high jump with a jump of 1.47 meters.  

For the men, Andre Farrell took 3rd in the high jump by leaping 1.75 meters, was 6th in both the 100 meters (11.82) and 400 meters (53.03), and in addition placed 8th in the 200 (23.75). Furthermore, he led off the 4x100 meter relay team, which took 5th place with a time of 46.34 seconds. Jacob Schenk, Damien Brown and Anthony Shuler joined Farrell. Shuler also placed in the 400 (7th in 53.08) and 100 (7th in 11.88), as well as in the long jump (where he was 8th with a jump of 5.65 meters) and triple jump (finished 4th with a leap of 13.23). Shuler's finish in the triple jump locked him into a qualifying slot for the NJCAA Championships.  

Finger Lakes will compete again this coming weekend on Saturday at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational. Meet time is set for 10 am.
