Women's Track Participate at Westminster Invitational

The Finger Lakes Community College women's Track and Field team participated in the Westminster Invitational on Saturday April 16th.  The 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay team (Trista Hawke, Jordan Newton, Stephanie Helzer and Emily Pavone) qualified for the NJCAA Championships by finishing in 14th and 18th overall, running 57.24 and 4:50.64 in those relays respectively. 

In addition, Trista Hawke qualified in the 100 meter Hurdles in 18.86; Kristen Karam threw 17.93 in the discus to qualify as well.  Emily Pavone ran to a personal best in the 1500 in 6:00.84 and the 800 in 2:57.69.  Stephanie Helzer ran a personal best as well in the 1500 in 6:19 and 800 in 3:10.  Kiersten tossed a 13.06 in the javelin with Kristen Karam throwing 18.60. 

Jordan Newton ran a season best 1:07. 12 in the 400 meter run with Trista Hawke running another season best in 29.08 in the 200 meter run.  Next up is the Mansfield Invitational 'Under the Lights' on April 23rd!
