Women's Volleyball Sweeps Weekend Regional Matches

Queensbury, NY - The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team swept its weekend regional matches against Adirondack Community College, Hudson Valley Community College, and Fulton-Montgomery Community College. All 3 matches were played at Adirondack Community College. The Lady Lakers (4-4) defeated Adirondack in its first match by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, and 25-18. FLCC took match 2 against Hudson Valley in straight sets, by scores of 26-24, 25-7, and 23-22. The Lady Lakers finished the day with a victory over Fulton-Montgomery by eliminating them in straight sets, 25-15, 25-12, and 25-20.

FLCC was highlighted by the weekend play of Taylor Ryan (Victor), who posted 21 kills, 20 digs, and 8 aces in all 3 matches. Jordan Smith (Lyons) tallied 26 kills, 22 digs, and 2 blocks in the Lakers victories. Annie Degnan (Spencerport) added 104 assists, 18 digs, and 6 aces for FLCC over the weekend.

The Lady Lakers next match is set for this Wednesday (September 14th) at home against Jefferson Community College. The match is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
