Volleyball – Lady Lakers Receive #2 Seed in 2012 MSAC Tourney

WATERTOWN, NY. – The FLCC Lady Lakers, who posted a 5-1 record in the Mid-State Athletic Conference in 2012, has earned the #2 seed for the opening round of the MSAC Tournament – which is scheduled to be held on Saturday (10/20) on the campus of Jefferson CC.

In the opening round, the Lady Lakers will take on 7th seeded Cayuga CC (0-6 MSAC) at 11:00 a.m. The meeting between the Lady Lakers and Lady Spartans will be the only match taking place in round one. All other team's (#1 Jefferson CC, #3 Onondaga CC, #4 Corning CC, #5 Broome CC, and #6 Tompkins Cortland CC) will receive first-round byes.

The winner of the FLCC/Cayuga match, will take on the winner of the Onondaga/TC3 contest (which is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.) in round three (semi-finals) at 2:00 p.m. Also squaring off in round two at 12:30 p.m. will be Corning and Broome. The victorious team in that pairing will advance to the third round to play the hosts of the tournament – Jefferson. That match is set to start at 2:00 p.m.

After the round three matches conclude and a pair of winning teams has advanced, a championship game will follow at 3:30 p.m.

Each match in the first three rounds will be a best-of-three series while the championship round will be a best-of-five series.
