The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team defeated the Corning Community College Red Barons in an exciting four set win by scores of 29-27, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21. The win brings the Lakers to 3-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and gives the Lakers a regional win as well.
The Lakers strong offensive performance led them to the win. As a team, the Lakers recorded 42 kills. Aubrey Davis led the offense connecting with attackers for 36 assists. Ryenn Smith and Ali Drier had 19 kills and 12 kills respectively. Davis also led all servers with 5 service aces. Mary Beth Schram continues to be strong defensively for the Lakers recording 11 digs.
The Lakers will travel to Niagara County Community College on Saturday, 9/27 for Region III POD play. The Lakers will face off against Niagara County Community College, Jamestown Community College, and Erie Community College. The POD is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
