The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Volleyball team defeated Broome Community College in 4 sets last night by scores of 17-25, 25-12, 25-7, 25-18. The Lakers have improved their overall record to 12-8.
The Lakers started the evening every slow, losing the first set to Broome (25-17). However, once the second set started, the Lakers looked like a completely different team. The following three sets were dominated by Finger Lakes. The defense took charge of the match taking away most of Broome's scoring opportunities. Katee Martinez had 23 digs last night and 3 aces. Danielle Cox had 11 digs. The attacking force for the Lakers was lead by Celyna Levesque who had 9 kills and 2 aces on the night. Brianne Avary and Aubrey Davis had 11 assists each for Finger Lakes.

The Lakers will return on Saturday, 10/3 as they travel to Mohawk Valley Community College to compete in the Mohawk Valley POD. They will face Fulton-Montgomery CC, Herkimer College, and Mohawk Valley CC. The first game is set to begin at 9am.
