Lakers go 1-2 in POD Play

BATAVIA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women’s Volleyball team played in the Genesee Community College Region III POD on Saturday. There they faced Jamestown Community College, Erie Community College, and Niagara County Community College. They lost to Jamestown 3-0, Erie 3-1, and they beat Niagara County 3-1.

Jamestown Game

The Lakers lost to Jamestown in three sets. They lost 18-25, 21-25, and 18-25.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Lindsay Howell with 10 kills, and 2 blocks, Alyssa Fox with 6 kills, and 19 digs, and Megan Gass with 37 digs.

Erie Game

The Lakers lost to Erie in four sets. They lost the first set 21-25, won the second set 25-23, and lost the last two sets 18-25, and 20-25.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Alyssa Fox with 14 kills, 16 digs and 1 block, Lindsay Howell with 15 kills and 2 blocks, and Haydn Carr with 4 kills and 3 blocks.

Niagara County Game


The Lakers won against Niagara County in four sets. They lost the first set 19-25, then one the last three sets 25-20, 25-14, and 25-11.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Lindsay Howell with 11 kills, and 1 block, Alyssa Fox with 6 kills, 13 digs, and 1 block, and Megan Gass with 18 digs.

The Lakers play at home on Wednesday, September 27th against SUNY Broome Community College. This will be the Laker’s Sophomore Night. The game will begin at 6:00pm. Sophomore Night festivities will begin before the game.
