Lacrosse – Lakers Fall To #6 Nationally Ranked Monroe On Road, 16-5

ROCHESTER, NY. -- Today's pairing with the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (8-10, 3-1 MSAC, 6-6 Region III) was no match for the #6 nationally ranked Monroe Community College Tribunes. The Tribunes dominated the game right from faceoff by cruising to a 16-5 home victory.

Game Summary -- Monroe opened up a 3-nil deficit on the Lakers after the first period of play. Finger Lakes had its most productive period of the game in the second when it scored three goals against the Tribunes four helpers. Leading 7-3 heading into the second half, Monroe came out in the third with another strong offensive display, blanking the Lakers, 4-0. The Tribunes built an 11-3 lead heading into the fourth where they added five more goals to their already double-digit scoring day. Finger Lakes added two of its five goals in the final period.

Lakers Individual Scoring -- Jack Timerson (Newark, NY) was the only player on the roster who recorded more than one point today in the scoring column. He finished the road game with 1 goal and 2 assists.

The other four goals were scored (one goal each) by Corey Roed (Inner Heights, MN), Joshua Taylor (Calgary, Alberta), Matt Fuller (Medina, NY), and Albert Thompson (Medina, NY).

Steve Campaniello (Rochester, NY) added an assist to round out the scoring table.

Lakers Goaltending -- Starter John Perrucci (Myrtle Beach, SC) stopped 14 shots while allowing 15 goals in 56 minutes worth of action.

Nate Gardner (Newark, NY) relieved Perrucci for the other 4 minutes in goal. He finished his short stint by recording a pair of saves while allowing just one goal.

Upcoming Game -- The Lakers will head back home for their next contest to take on Herkimer County Community College this Friday (4/27) at 4:00 pm.
