Bio

As a dual-sport athlete in high school at Wellsville: Smyers was a member of the women’s volleyball and softball teams. During her playing days as a softball player at Wellsville, Smyers was a quality defender in the outfield as well as a solid hitter at the plate. Defensively, she had the speed necessary to track down balls in the outfield as well as the arm strength necessary to throw out players on the base paths. Offensively, Smyers had the ability to hit to all sectors of the field. Her excellent hand eye coordination combined with her bat speed made for her to be a consistent threat at the plate. Aside from her skills on the field, Smyers is also known to be a positive presence in the clubhouse. The freshman is currently majoring in accounting.
