As a forward with the Lady Lakers in 2011-12: Smith defined the word workhorse. Playing in each of Finger Lakes 29 games last year, the Lyons, NY native gave the Lady Lakers roster a substantial boost from an energy standpoint. She consistently displayed nothing but 100% effort on the court when she was present on it. Her level of playing tremendously hard at all times was never in question. A solid leader and great teammate, Smith averaged 3.2 points and 6 rebounds per game her freshman year. Overall, she totaled 174 rebounds in the time that she spent on the hardwood. In addition to her points and rebounding averages, Smith grabbed a hold of 37 steals. On the season, she averaged 1.3 steals per game. Coming off of a fall season where she was named volleyball Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a member of the Lady Lakers squad, she enters 2012-13 with high levels of expectations. Smith is reliable and dependable. This marquee member of Finger Lakes roster has the potential to reach the top of the mountain in the department of success this year. Given the list of positive adjectives that describe this sophomore, Smith should only continue to inch her way up the chart of greatness in 2012-13.
