Bob Lowden is the current Director of Athletics at FLCC. He serves as the primary administrator for the Department of Athletics, overseeing the daily operations of all coaches and staff members. He has held this position since 2006 and has been an employee at the college since 1988. Prior to taking on this position, Lowden served as an associate professor and head baseball coach at FLCC from 1989-2005.
Lowden’s career in athletics extends beyond the administrative ranks. He was a standout baseball player in college, playing at both Monroe Community College and Miami University of Ohio. After graduating from Miami University of Ohio, Lowden remained at the university, accepting a position as a graduate assistant. He later went on to begin his coaching career in 1985 as an assistant coach for the Ball State University baseball team.
Lowden also has international coaching experience, having coached and conducted summer baseball clinics in the Italian Professional League from 1991-93. In 1994, he was chosen by USA Baseball to coach the East Squad at the U.S. Olympic Festival in St. Louis, MO. In 1996, Lowden was selected to coach the Junior College Baseball National Team.
Lowden was named Northeast District Coach of the Year as well as Regional Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1994. He twice led the FLCC baseball team to regional titles in 1992 and 1994. Lowden also coached the Lakers to a pair of NJCAA World Series appearances in 1992 and 1994.
Lowden graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He later went on to attain a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from (SUNY) Brockport State College. Lowden currently resides in Farmington, NY with his wife Rosemary and daughter Maria.
