Bio

Bob Lowden is the current director of athletics at Finger Lakes. He serves as the primary administrator for the athletics department by overseeing the daily operations of all coaches and staff members. Lowden has been the director of athletics at the college since 2006. Prior to taking over this role, he served as an associate professor and head baseball coach at Finger Lakes from 1988-2005.

Lowden’s career in athletics extends beyond his years at Finger Lakes. As an athlete in college, he was a standout baseball player at Monroe Community College and Miami University of Ohio. After graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 1983, Lowden remained at the university, accepting a position as a graduate assistant.

In 1985, he began his baseball coaching career by accepting a role as an assistant coach at Ball State University. Lowden also has international coaching experience, having coached and conducted summer baseball clinics in the Italian Professional League from 1991-1993. In 1994, he was chosen by USA Baseball to coach the East Squad at the United States Olympic Festival in St. Louis, MO. In 1996, Lowden was selected to coach the Junior College Baseball National Team.

Lowden was named both Northeast District and Regional Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1994. He twice led the FLCC baseball team to regional titles in ’92 and ’94. He also coached the Lakers to a pair of NJCAA World Series appearances during both of these seasons.

Lowden earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Miami University of Ohio. In addition, he holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport. He currently resides in Farmington, NY with his wife Rosemary and daughter Maria.
