2011 Season in Review
The FLCC men's lacrosse team finished the 2011 season with a record of 8-10 (6-8 in Region III Play). The Lakers started out the season by losing 6 of their first 8 games. They then turned their season around by winning 5 games in a row, before losing 4 of their final 5 contests.
Andy Campos (Los Angeles, CA) led the Lakers in scoring (78 points) with 42 goals and 36 assists in 15 games played. Kieran Gallagher (St. Paul, MN) totaled 33 goals and 17 assists (in 14 games played) while Jack Nadeau (Durham, NH) added 18 goals and 23 assists (in 14 games played) to FLCC's offense. Josh Taylor (Calgary, Alberta) was third on the team in goals with 25 (in 13 games played).
In goal, Nick Sabia (Canandaigua) and Jake Auburn (Livonia) shared playing time. Sabia played in all 18 games, totaling 260 saves on the season while Auburn saw action in 8 games, making 27 saves in goal for the Lakers.
FLCC stands to only potentially lose 5 players off of its current 21 man roster for next season. The Lakers look to retain 16 freshmen from this year's team. Players that have concluded their FLCC lacrosse careers include; (Attackman) Campos, (Defensemen) Kevin Urbaitis, Schuyler Whitney, and Andy Teneyck, and (Goalie) Sabia.
