Lacrosse – Lakers Fall On Road To #10 Nationally Ranked SUNY Delhi
DELHI, NY. – The #10 nationally ranked SUNY Delhi Broncos (11-2) established a 7-2 lead after the first period of today's game against the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (8-9, 3-1 MSAC, 6-5 Region III) and never looked back, taking the home victory, 15-9.
Game Summary: The Broncos went on to score three goals in each of the second and third periods before adding on a pair of goals in the fourth. After the two-goal first period for the Lakers, they went on to score two in the second, three in the third, and two in the fourth.
Scoring: In a losing effort, Finger Lakes was highlighted by the five-goal afternoon of Joshua Taylor (Calgary, Alberta).
Corey Roed (Inner Grove Heights, MN) and Jack Timerson (Newark, NY) each poured in four-point games for the Lakers. Roed's four-point effort consisted of both a pair of goals and assists. Timerson contributed one goal and three assists.
Matt Fuller (Medina, NY) scored Finger Lakes other goal.
Rob Pelkey (Fairport, NY) added an assist for the Lakers.
Goaltending: Finger Lakes starter John Perrucci (Myrtle Beach, SC) tended all 60 minutes in net, finishing the game with 16 saves.
Upcoming Game: Finger Lakes will play the rest of its games this season at home. They will be back in action on Wednesday (4/25) against #6 nationally ranked Monroe Community College (11-5). Faceoff is slated for 4:00 pm.
