Lakers Set to Take Field Tomorrow Against Nation’s Top Team in OCC

CANANDAIGUA – The Finger Lakes CC men's lacrosse team travels to Syracuse, NY tomorrow for an MSAC showdown with Onondaga CC at Murphy Field beginning at 6 p.m.

The No. 10 Lakers (1-3, 0-0) enter the conference matchup coming off of a tough 12-11 loss to Union County College this past Sunday, Mar. 10. Finger Lakes, having played in four games thus far this season, has been led up to this point offensively by Jack Timerson. The sophomore currently leads the team in goals (11) and points (13). In net, keeper John Perrucci has started each of the Lakers four contests.

The No. 1 Lazers (2-0, 0-0) enter tomorrow's contest on an NJCAA-best 54-game win streak. The Lazers boast InsideLacrosse.com Preseason Player of the Year, Randy Staats. The sophomore attackman has registered 11 goals in OCC's first two games this season. In goal, freshman keeper Warren Hill has given the team two solid outings in both Lazer victories.

In the most recent meeting between the two institutions on Apr. 28, 2012, OCC defeated the Lakers 35-3. In that game, Timerson contributed a helper while Perrucci recorded 7 saves in 40 minutes of action.
