Lakers Lax Game vs. Cayuga CC has been moved to Corcoran Stadium in Syracuse, NY

CANANDAIGUA – The Finger Lakes Community College men's lacrosse game against Cayuga Community College scheduled to be played this Wednesday in Canandaigua, N.Y. at 4 p.m., has been moved to Corcoran Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y., due to expected unplayable field conditions. The game will now be played at 6:15 p.m.

The Lakers are 2-5 this season. They enter Wednesday's game coming off a weekend loss, 26-3, to No. 5 Suffolk County Community College. Sophomore Jack Timerson leads the team with 31 points on 23 goals and eight assists. John Perrucci has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Lakers, and currently sports a 15.88 GAA and a .580 save percentage.

The Spartans enter Wednesday's contest with a record of 2-2. They proceed to Wednesday's game coming off a 13-8 loss to Herkimer County Community College. Connor Davenport and Connor Wheeler are tied for the team lead with 13 points. Wheeler leads the team with 10 goals. Brad Rowe has played all but 5:43 in goal this season, posting an 11.36 GAA and a .522 save percentage.

The two programs will square off for the seventh time since 2007, with the Lakers leading the series, 4-2. The average score throughout the seven game series is 12.3 - 8.9. The Lakers +3.4 scoring margin against Cayuga is their third highest against any NJCAA opponent (minimum three games), trailing only Tompkins Cortland Community College (+8.4 in five games) and Dean College (+11.0 in three games).

The two teams last met on Mar. 21, 2012. Finger Lakes Community College came out strong, scoring the first five goals of the contest en route to a 13-5 victory over Cayuga Community College at Laker Lacrosse Field. Joshua Taylor ('12) produced a hat trick for the Lakers, and added an assist to lead all scorers with 4 points. Robert Pelkey, Corey Roed, and Matt Fuller ('12) each added two goals apiece. Perrucci played the entire game in goal for Finger Lakes Community College, allowing just five goals. For Cayuga Community College, J.T. Haag scored twice to lead the Spartans.
