Lakers to face Mohawk Valley CC in Home Contest on Tuesday

CANANDAIGUA – The Lakers, after several postponements and game location changes, will finally play on their own field tomorrow for the first time this season. Finger Lakes, entering Tuesday with a 2-6 record, will take on the 0-3 Mohawk Valley CC Hawks at 4 pm.

Both teams met once last season on the Hawks field in what was a low-scoring game. On Apr. 9, 2012, the Lakers defeated Mohawk Valley 6-2. In the game, which was the continuation of a postponed meeting between both squads, Finger Lakes was highlighted by the play of goaltender John Perrucci. On the day, the South Carolina native netted 18 saves on 20 Mohawk Valley shot attempts.

The Lakers will enter Tuesday looking to put an end to a two-game losing streak. Finger Lakes will look to ride Jack Timerson's hot shooting hand in the afternoon contest. The sophomore, who has 25 helpers and 33 points in eight games, is currently second and sixth in the nation in goals scored and points respectively. Finger Lakes, in addition to relying on Timerson's excellent play, will look to lean on the play of Perrucci in net tomorrow. Playing in each of the Lakers games up to this point this season, the goaltender has recorded an NJCAA-best 141 saves.
